The story of a group of college students who portray various independence fighters for a movie is told in Rang De Basanti. As they opt to fight for a cause, the film’s director unintentionally sparks their patriotism.

Aamir Khan took the lead role in the Bollywood smash, with Siddharth, Soha Ali Khan, Sharman Joshi, and other actors filling up the supporting cast. In his autobiography, director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra said candidly about the cast, “The current James Bond, Daniel Craig, was one of the actors who tried out for the role of James McKinley, the young prisoner who Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev walked into the gallows.

Daniel Craig would have been in the movie, according to the filmmaker, if he hadn’t been chosen to play James Bond in the 2006 movie Casino Royale. Daniel Craig was Mehra’s top pick, but he asked for some time as he was also being considered to be the next James Bond. And the rest is history, as they say.” Instead, the roles of Sue and James McKinley were filled by actors Alice Patton and Steven McIntosh.

Daniel Craig undoubtedly gained fans all over the world with his role as 007 in the well-known movie series. With James Bond: No Time To Die, the actor said goodbye to his espionage persona in 2021 and left his admirers with lifelong memories. To watch Aamir Khan and Daniel Craig in the same frame, though, would have been an entirely different experience.
