Actress and Samajwadi Party legislator Jaya Bachchan blasted the administration in Parliament for failing to address the turmoil in Manipur. He claimed that while the nation’s authorities should have been discussing the violence in the state after a months-old video of two tribal women being paraded naked and assaulted by a gang of men in Manipur leaked online, they were not.
Jaya Bachchan Criticizes Government for Manipur Unrest
Jaya stated to reporters on Monday in Delhi, “Manipur is the topic of much discussion on a global scale, but not in our nation. What else is there to say? It is unfortunate that they are unwilling to talk.”
Jaya said, “And the states you are talking about inside the parliament are your strong opponents,” as opposition Lawmakers sought a discussion on the violence in Manipur. You’re bringing them up. What is going on in your state, where are you located? You describe what is taking place in UP and Madhya Pradesh. There won’t be anything left of them in the future.
Jaya on Manipur Video
Jaya claimed last week that she was unable to view the entire video of the tribal women of Manipur being paraded in their underwear because she felt “ashamed.” She said, “I felt so horrible, I could not watch the complete video,” to the news agency ANI in Hindi. I felt ashamed. Although this occurred in May, it has since gone viral. But nobody offered any consoling words. That has to do with women’s safety. You assert, however, that we have chosen a panel that is 50% female.
He further stated, “It is quite depressing. For women, something unexpected happens every day. Yogi Adityanath ji never reveals what occurs in UP, hence we are unaware of what occurs there. What is occurring to women all around the nation? Such a slight It makes me sad.”
Reactions to the Manipur Incident
Several celebrities, including Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Soni Razdan, and Vivek Agnihotri, recently responded to the viral video of the two Manipuri women.
In response to the viral video showing two women allegedly being sexually abused on the streets of Manipur, actress Kiara Advani also posted on social media. “The video of abuse against women in Manipur is horrible and rocked me to my core,” she commented on Twitter. I hope that the women receive justice as soon as possible. The severe punishment due to the guilty parties shall be administered.
