Vicky Kaushal has talked about his early struggles as an actor and said that his parents’ treatment of him, both then and now, is what has kept him modest. Vicky claimed in an interview with Film Companion that he is so deeply embedded with middle-class ideals that it will be impossible for him to fully transcend them.
Vicky made his acting debut in Bollywood with Masaan, a critically acclaimed 2015 movie directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. Before that, he served as Anurag Kashyap’s assistant director on the popular gangster drama Gangs of Wasseypur from 2012. Vicky is the son of famous action director Sam Kaushal and housewife Veena Kaushal. Sunny Kaushal, his younger brother, is also an actor. Katrina Kaif, a famous Bollywood actress, is Vicky’s wife.
Vicky in the Days of Struggle
Sunny and I were always taught the distinction between necessities and luxuries by my parents. They used to claim that while you would be given with your basic needs, you would have to work for your luxury. There was always a line of demarcation. We had a second car at home when I was Eddie and we went to college, but I wasn’t permitted to drive it. Unless I need to take mom to yoga. Yet, I had to take a bus or an auto if I had to travel to my job, for work, even if I had to go to Anurag sir’s office or audition vegara (etc.). I am not capable of operating a vehicle by myself. In an interview with Film Companion, Vicky said, “To achieve that, you have to earn your car.
Vicky Reveals How His Mother Still Keeps Him Grounded
I recall that in 2018 or 2019, one of the top journals published a list of the “Most Desired,” and Mera Naam Aa Gaya Tha Uske featured on the list (My name was in the list). I recently returned from a trip. I overate and enjoyed myself, which is why I gained weight: dosto ke saath khub khaya. As I got back, my shirt was open, and when my mother saw me, she said, “Aa dekh lo, yeh hai most desired” (look, he is the most desirable). When harassment occurs at home, you don’t lose your cool. I can’t be molded by the internet, Vicky joked in the same interview.
Next up for Vicky is an untitled Meghna Gulzar romantic comedy co-starring Sam Bahadur and Tripti Dimri and directed by Anand Tiwari.
