Following a public altercation at a panel discussion, an actor and a filmmaker in the Netflix movie AK vs. AK (2020) engage in a fierce physical and psychological battle. In Vikramaditya Motwane’s movie, Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap portrayed fictitious versions of themselves. Recently, the director admitted that neither Anil nor Anurag was the project’s original choice. When Vikramaditya went to approach Akshay Kumar for the job, he almost forced him leave his office because the script was initially written for Aamir Khan.
It was disclosed by Vikramaditya Motwane that he considered using Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar in the film AK vs AK (2020).
Anurag Kashyap, the director, and actor Anil were at odds in the black comedy. Sonam Kapoor, who is portrayed by Anil’s real-life daughter, is also kidnapped by Anurag in the movie, and the director orders the actor to find her. Boney Kapoor, an actor and producer, and his son Harshvardhan Kapoor also made cameo appearances in the movie.
The director revealed that they had originally considered Aamir and Akshay for the role in an interview with mid-day. According to Vikramaditya, “We received the script from writer Avinash Sampath, who has since grown to be one of my close friends. For Aamir, he penned it. [Khan] Initial. Let’s not even try since I am certain that Aamir would never do that.”
She went on to say, “We went to see Akshay Kumar, and it was a really intriguing meeting. He didn’t say, “Get out of my office,” but it was close enough. While Shahid [Kapoor] and I were making it, it kind of happened before it didn’t. AK, the actor, kept altering. Anurag Kashyap, the filmmaker, was persistent. He is a fantastic actor.” Anil and Vikram’s regular partner Anurag was eventually cast in the key parts.
Jubilee, Vikramaditya’s most recent film, is currently streaming on Prime Video. The web series’ creator uses a fictional story to examine the early years of Indian filmmaking following the country’s independence. Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Siddhant Gupta, Aditi Rao Hydari, Vamika Gabbi, and Ram Kapoor are among the cast members of the programme. The historical play was co-produced by Vikramaditya and Soumik Sen.
