Riteish Deshmukh, an actor and filmmaker, tweeted his appreciation for Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia on Friday. Recently, the actor received the Maharashtrian of the Year honor. Popular politicians who were in attendance at the awards ceremony gave Deshmukh the prize. In addition, actress Genelia D’Souza, Deshmukh’s mother, was called to the stage.

After phoning his mother on stage and expressing his thanks, Ritesh Deshmukh ran out of words.

I have no words to adequately express my thanks for the love and care you have shown to my mother, Deshmukh wrote.

I appreciate you very much. Deshmukh and his family are seen in the shared video accepting the honor.

With the Marathi movie Ved, Deshmukh recently made his directorial debut. Deshmukh has previously stated, when discussing his directing, “I’ve always been pulled to it (directing), but I’ve never had the guts to do it because I was playing. I’ve been attempting to learn over the past three to four years. Even “Ved,” the movie I directed, was successful for me.

The movie turned out to be a huge hit in the Marathi cinema industry. When asked if there had been any changes at the awards, Deshmukh responded, “Nothing has changed. The distinction is that I am now recognized as an actor-director. Both back then and now, there was no work.”
