Pamela Chopra, the wife of company founder and director Yash Chopra, received a special homage from Yash Raj Films (YRF). On Thursday, April 20, Pamela passed away at a Mumbai hospital. Yash Raj Productions posted a video on Twitter that combined some of their on-camera antics with some of the songs they sang. He noted: “Our sincere condolences go out to Mrs. Pamela Yash Chopra. We will carry her memories with us till we pass away.”
Pamela remembers one of her playback singing opportunities in the video. She stated: “Really, I was subtitling for Lataji. I was performing one dub, but I’m sorry I can’t tell you what it was. No, You have sang it really wonderfully, Jatin-Lalit informed me. We’d rather not dub it. I’m sorry, but I’m unable to describe how I felt.” There are also her songs Meri Maa Ne Laga Diya from Darr (1993), Ghar Aaja Pardesi from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Meri Banno Ki Aayegi Baaraat from Aaina (1993), and Main Sasural Nahi Jaungi from Chandni (1989).
