Editor-writer Apoorva Asrani slammed filmmaker Karan Johar earlier this month after watching an old clip of him discussing attempting to destroy actor Anushka Sharma’s career. Apoorva has since tweeted once more about Karan Johar, calling his flicks Student Of The Year (2012) and Dostana (2008) “destructive.” Ms. Apoorva responded to a Twitter user who criticised Karan Johar’s films for “perpetuating certain prejudices about the LGBTQ+ community” while the Supreme Court hearing on gay marriage was still going on.Dostana, directed by Karan Johar and starring John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan, has drawn criticism from Apoorva Asrani.

“I would also criticise Karan Johar’s films for promoting some stereotypes about the LGBTQ+ community, especially through the usage of certain characters and humorous elements,” the tweet stated. Apoorva Asrani responded by claiming that not just Karan was involved in the pattern of ‘ridiculing’ LGBT people in Bollywood films. Apoorva, who has criticised some of Karan’s movies, claimed that the director had also backed a “sensitive” movie called Kapoor & Sons (2016).

Not just Karan Johar, mocking and caricaturing homosexual people was a pattern in Bollywood, Apoorva tweeted on Friday. But luckily, that has come to an end. They created Kapoor & Sons, which was more considerate, in addition to the nice and hurting Student of the Year (rainbow flag emoji).

Shakun Batra and Karan Johar supported the film Kapoor & Sons, which addressed topics of a broken family and homosexuality. In addition to Alia Bhatt, it featured Rishi Kapoor, Ratna Pathak Shah, Rajat Kapoor, Fawad Khan, and Sidharth Malhotra. It received favourable reviews and did well at the box office. In the meantime, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham in Dostana pose as a gay couple to obtain housing. In the movie Student of the Year, Rishi Kapoor played the part of a gay dean.

Apoorva also discussed the Supreme Court hearing on requests for marriage equality in a series of tweets. At least 15 petitions requesting marital equality in India are now being heard by the Supreme Court. Apoorva tweeted on Thursday that it was a “period of concern”: “We’re all going through a scary time. Despite their best efforts, straight people won’t understand the severity of what we’re going through. But we are all involved in this “,

He also requested that people leave the LGBTQ+ community alone and allow people to make their “personal decisions” in another tweet. Tweets from Apoorva “My position is straightforward: As long as someone isn’t interfering with your personal decision or your decision isn’t causing them damage, leave them alone. We could be too many to comprehend anything, especially when it comes to the struggles of an individual “in order to identify.
