The Cannes Film Festival will host the world premiere of Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone’s next movie, “Kennedy,” directed by Anurag Kashyap.

Anurag Kashyap’s “Kennedy,” which is produced by Zee Studios and Good Bad Films, is essentially a cop noir movie. A long-thought-dead insomniac ex-cop who is still employed by a corrupt system and looking for forgiveness is the focus of the movie. Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone play the key parts in the movie, which will screen at midnight during the Cannes Film Festival in 2023.

Working with Anurag Kashyap has always been an artistically fulfilling experience, according to Shariq Patel, CBO of Zee Studios, who announced the movie. We are reinforcing with Kennedy our dedication to telling Indian stories around the world. We are pleased that Kennedy is the first Indian picture to have its world premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival.

Anurag Kashyap, the director, added, “I’ve always wanted to explore this genre and this particular picture. It’s more divisive than noir and pays homage to Patrick Manchett’s work on criminal fiction, his comic book collaborations with Jacques Tardy, and his Melville-inspired films. It’s also a very personal crime/police drama, and I want to thank Zee Studios, Shariq and team, Neeraj, Bhumika, my producers Ranjan, Kabir, and Kavan, my complete cast, my criminal partners Silver, Qazvin, and all of my other collaborators for making it. I’m so appreciative of everyone who helped me design this, including Prashant, Rahul Bhat, Sunny Leone, Mohit Takalkar, who took on the challenge, and Rahul Bhat, who gave up eight months of his life. I’m thankful right now.

“It is always enjoyable and enlightening to make a movie with Anurag, especially movies that originate from his heart,” producer Ranjan Singh of Good Bad Films remarked. Due to the fact that the movie’s conception and production took place during a lockdown, Kennedy’s path has been both comparable and unique.

Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone star in Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy, which was written and directed by him. Zee Studios, Ranjan Singh, and Kabir Ahuja produced the movie.
