Bawa made his IPL debut last year and participated in two games for the franchise. He was a member of the India squad that won the 2022 Under-19 World Cup. He has been replaced by potential all-arounder Gurnoor from Punjab by PBKS.
Gurnoor, a left-handed all-round batsman for Punjab, made his first-class debut in December 2022. He participated in five first-class games, scoring 107 runs with a strike rate of 120.22 and claiming seven wickets with a 3.80 economy rate while doing so.
Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals will face off at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, Assam. PBKS will be motivated to continue their winning streak after defeating Kolkata Knight Riders in their inaugural game.
KKR’s pursuit of 192 got off to a shaky start. With a double blow, pacer Arshdeep Singh stunned Kolkata’s batting order. He cheaply got rid of Mandeep Singh (2) and Anukul Roy (4) to get KKR down to 17/2 in 2 overs.
Nevertheless, the rain god stopped the match, and as a result, Punjab Kings won using the DLS strategy. KKR’s innings came to an end at 146/7 in 16 overs thanks to the undefeated partnership of Sunil Narine (7*) and Shardul Thakur (8*). In the final four overs, he still needed to score 46 runs.
Due to the inability to continue, PBKS prevailed by 7 runs.
