Shreyas Iyer, the captain of KKR, is no longer available because of a lower back ailment, and Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has announced that he would not be playing this year.
The sole player selected in the absence of two is the reigning champion. Whether they will hunt for another substitute later in the competition was not confirmed.
We have lost two players in Iyer and Shakib, but we have gained one in Roy, according to a KKR spokesperson when Hindustan Times enquired more.
Roy last played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2021 season. He had previously appeared in the 2017 and 2018 seasons. He participated in five games in 2021, recording 150 runs, including a half-century. The 32-year-old has participated in 64 T20 Internationals for England, amassing 1522 runs at a S/R of 137.61 and 8 fifties.
