DJ Envy, a morning radio personality, says that he and his family were requested to join “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” on several occasions but turned down the offers.I don’t want to be a token black person on the show, Envy (real name Rashaun Casey) told us. We don’t like that kind of drama and beef, therefore they need to recognize that. When I see you folks fighting and clapping, that is not my family, he told Page Six.

The Bravo program, which debuted in 2009, continues to have one of the network’s strongest ratings.

Envy stated, “We’ve been approached frequently about joining ‘Real Housewives,’ but I don’t think this is right for us. “I’m not sure where we fit in with all that. To be really honest, I don’t see myself moving in with anyone from the cast. That just doesn’t feel right to me when they go out and do certain things.

“I know artists all over New Jersey,” says Envy. “My kids and their kids know each other through dance or gymnastics. So I know Teresa and Joe Gorga and all those people – but I don’t think we’ll fit in.
