Prosenjit Chatterjee makes his Hindi OTT debut as studio head Srikanth Roy in the upcoming historical film Jubilee. The actor has a long history in Bengali cinema and has worked on a few Bollywood films. Few people are aware that he turned down the 1989 films Maine Pyar Kiya and Saajan (1991). Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, who portrayed the roles, made substantial contributions to both movies’ respective careers. With the enormous success of Amar Sanghi, Prosenjit admitted that he did not want to gamble with his career in Bengali movies.

The seasoned actor Biswajit Chatterjee, who has appeared in Bengali and Hindi films, is the father of Prosenjit. Prasenjit, who has participated in a few Bollywood productions, opted to concentrate on his West Bengali career.
Prosenjit discussed the reasons he chose not to enter Bollywood in a 2012 interview with The New York Times. To be really honest, I didn’t want to put my Bengali cinema career in danger at that time, he had admitted. I attempted three Hindi movies, although I didn’t really make the best choices or give them much attention. They fell flat. Return home.” Inside Kolkata I have a lot to do here now that “Amar Sangi” (1987) established me as a hero and became a phenomenon. Risking all of that to work in Bombay was probably a bad idea. I turned down the offers, which included roles in movies like “Maine Pyar Kiya.” Both the movies were huge successes: “Sajan” (Sanjay Dutt’s character) and the lead role, which was afterwards taken by Salman Khan.
The actor was recently coy about his decision to pass on Maine Pyar Kiya, which was Salman’s breakout role, during the Jubilee promotional campaign. Forget it, he said to Bollywood Bubble. Ignore it. Let’s discuss the Jubilee. Jubilee’s friends persisted, and Prosenjit finally admitted that he was considering changing his career path. “To be honest, I told you…my last Hindi film was Shanghai,” he continued. And as you are aware, I have not worked in mainstream film for the past 10 to 12 years. I’ve changed. I have also worked. Considering all the new teachers.
Aparshakti Khurana, Aditi Rao Hydari, Vamika Gabbi, Ram Kapoor, and Siddhant Gupta are also featured in Jubilee. Soumik Sen and Vikramaditya Motwane collaborated on the production of the show. The first five episodes will air on April 7, and the final five episodes will start streaming on April 14.
