Sandeep Sarkar, the director who is working with actress Swastika Mukherjee to co-produce her upcoming Bengali film Shibpur, has come under fire for some severe claims. The actor stated that he got threatening letters requesting him to “cooperate” with Sandeep and his associates before the film’s premiere. Additionally, she said that they had altered, “nude” photos of her that they threatened to publish on pornographic websites.

In Kala, Swastika Mukherjee last appeared as Urmila Manjushree.

Swastika complained to the Golf Green police station in Kolkata last month. He also asked the Eastern India Motion Films Association for assistance (EIMPA). Political thriller Shibpur is helmed by Arindam Bhattacharya. Together with Swastika, it also has notable performances by Parambrata Chatterjee, Rajat Dutta, Mamta Shankar, Kharaj Mukhopadhyay, Sushmita Mukherjee, and a few more.

Swastika explained her ordeal to OTT Play, saying, “It started very abruptly. I never met Sandeep Sarkar during the entire filming and dubbing process. Ajanta Sinha Roy, a different co-producer, was the one who spoke to us. Sandeep Sarkar started threatening me with emails all of a sudden. He asserted that he was an American citizen and threatened to contact the US Consulate to prevent me from ever receiving a US visa if I did not “cooperate” with him. He additionally threatened to take me before the chief minister and police commissioner. Now, I have no notion what this “cooperation” actually implies. I directed and subtitled the movie, and I never meant to take part in marketing initiatives. The movie’s initial release date was set for March. Their email contains the dates I am free. There was silence. Subsequently, the release was changed. They also didn’t bother to tell me after that. After learning this from our director, I emailed him again with my available dates. He had to assist with the promotional efforts up until that point. Now, what are they discussing? I don’t have any marketing or PR strategies. In fact, I also posted the poster on my social media when he first launched it.”

Ravish Sharma, who claimed to be a friend of Sandeep Sarkar, sent threatening emails to not only Swastika but also her manager. The performer said, “In addition, he (Ravish Sharma) asserted that he was a “great” hacker of computers. My photos would be “morphed,” he claimed, and sent to pornographic websites. He sent me an email with two nude and modified images of me with it. It was sexual harassment in essence. Sandeep Sarkar acknowledged that they knew one another.

“If I had wanted to, I would have discussed it with the media. I remained silent because I wanted Shibpur to release without incident. But it doesn’t seem to be coming to an end. Everyone who saw the shot can attest to the fact that I did my job well. I arrived on time and did everything in my power to accurately portray the character. Sandeep Sarkar, the source, claims that I have stolen money. The contract’s maximum payment was the only amount I received “The actor of Dil Bechara explained why he first kept quiet when everything began in March. She claimed that as soon as she received the aforementioned email, she went to the police.

Tripti Dimri and Babil Khan were present when Swastika was last seen in Kala. Shibpur, his upcoming Bengali movie, will hit theaters on May 5 instead of its original March release date.
