The action thriller Kandahar, starring Gerard Butler, has a new teaser from Open Road, and it will be released on May 26 for Memorial Day weekend.
Following working together on the 2019 action-thriller angel has fallen from Lionsgate, the 2020 action-thriller Greenland from STXfilms sees covert CIA agent Tom Harris (Butler) who is stranded in difficult area in Afghanistan. As his mission is foiled, he must battle his way to a point of extraction in Kandahar with the assistance of his Afghan translator while dodging all the elite enemy forces and international spies charged with tracking them down.
The screenplay for the movie starring Navid Negahban (cleaning lady), Ali Fazal (death on the nile), Travis Fimmel (raised by wolves), and Elnaz Norouzi (Tehran, Iran) was written by Michel Lafortune and Waugh. Basil Ivanick, Brendan Boya, Erika Lee, Butler, Alan Siegel, Christian Mercuri, Ali Jafar, and Scott Lastatti served as the project’s producers.
