One of Bollywood’s most talented performers, Vivek Oberoi, has come under fire for speaking out against the establishment and intimidating the industry. He offered his perspective on the industry at a press conference twenty years ago and received criticism for speaking out against it. Vivek has now praised the actress after Priyanka Chopra revealed her side of the tale.
Priyanka recently gave an interview that went viral on all social media sites and in the news media because she complained about being “cornered in the industry” and having “conflict with people.” In the midst of all of this, Vivek recently spoke with the media about the “evil underbelly” of Bollywood. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Vivek Oberoi admitted, “I am delighted that I came out of it. I feel like I made it through the trauma okay. Yet, not everyone is as fortunate. She recalled how she dealt with the criticism and said, “In the end, I noticed a lot of things that were unneeded. Many lobbies and terrible tales are pointed in the same direction by Priyanka. Regrettably, this has become the norm in our business. That has been one of the negative aspects of our sector. And I have experienced it firsthand. I am aware of how exhausting it can be and how it can make you feel exhausted.
After delivering a hit, Vivek Oberoi continued the conversation by describing how he was unemployed for 14 months “You believe that my performance in Shoot Out Lokhandwala won me accolades and was a commercial success. I remained at home for the subsequent 14 months without finding any work. I constantly thought, “I want to do something forward, something empowering, something that will take me above this,” as I was going through this.” He praised Priyanka Chopra profusely, thanking her for building a name for herself abroad and taking initiative.
“The industry is a really risky environment,” Vivek continued. Artists are more vulnerable than other people, which puts them in a more difficult situation. Whether it is the MeToo movement, casting couch, bullying, or even lobbying, all of these things deprive creation of its delight. I’m delighted that these issues are being discussed because they will eventually fade away.
When Sushant Singh Rajput is brought up, Vivek Oberoi quotes him and reiterates what he stated in the press conference 20 years prior, saying, “The day I raised my voice against it, every “well-wisher” would call me and used to say, “Don’t talk about it. Like a family secret, it is. But what if you are oblivious to abuse occurring in your family because it is a family secret? Stupid. What will be done to stop the abuse? So, this is an industry-wide problem that is improving. Individuals are speaking up more and more. Power is being distributed more widely.
At least fans are now aware that people can play god. Gone. No matter what occurs, Sushant (Singh Rajput, the late actor), shouldn’t have lost his life. It makes me sad. What a gifted young man; he ought to have had a wider circle of friends. AAP sector If a group is referred to as a family, they ought to support one another.
