At the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, Yuzvendra Chahal was in outstanding form as the Purple Cap holder led Rajasthan Royals to a decisive victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad. RR won by 72 runs in what turned out to be a one-sided contest.

Chahal took four wickets in four overs while allowing only 17 runs, limiting SRH to 131/8 in 20 overs while they were attempting to reach a target of 132. Mayank Agarwal, Harry Brook, Adil Rashid, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were all fired by the 32-year-old. His performance was so good, in fact, that his wife Dhanashree Verma gave him a heartfelt standing ovation.

Social media went into a frenzy after Dhanashree’s party as followers posted about how lovely and healthy it was.

With Sanju Samson (55), Jos Buttler (54), and Yashasvi Jaiswal (54), RR scored 203/5 in the first 20 overs of the game. RR made it to the final last season in part thanks to Chahal. With his effort against SRH, fans will be hopeful he wins the Purple Cap once more. The India star needed 27 wickets in 17 games to win the title.

Buttler was in in outstanding form for RR the previous year, winning the Orange Cap after amassing 863 runs in 17 games. Gujarat Titans defeated RR by 7 wickets in the championship game. With a goal of 131 to reach, GT scored 133/3 in 18.1 overs thanks to Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 45 from 43 balls. Trent Boult, Chahal, and the well-known Krishna each grabbed one wicket in the meanwhile. With Buttler scoring 39 from 35 balls, RR initially posted 130/9 in 20 overs. With the GT captain taking three wickets, Hardik Pandya was bowling effectively.
