The fourth season of Criminal Minds: Evolution, which stars Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, and Kirsten Vangsness, has been formally renewed by Paramount+. The Criminal Minds sequel’s early pickup takes place before the crime drama’s Season 3 launch, which is scheduled for May 8 and will be followed by weekly Thursday drops.
Production on Season 3 (Season 18 overall) concluded in December, sparking speculation regarding a renewal for Season 4 (overall Season 19 across Criminal Minds and Evolution). At the time, actor Paget Brewster wrote on X that “we are optimistic we will get a season 19.”
The third season, which consists of 10 episodes, will include a time jump, as series showrunner Erica Messer previously disclosed. It begins six months after Elias Voit, the infamous Sicarius Killer, is attacked by convicts, causing his agitated followers to start inflicting havoc across the nation on the dark web. The BAU must cooperate with an increasingly erratic Voit who has his own goal in order to prevent this evil organization from murdering more innocent people.
