In a recent interview, actress Bhumika Chawla disclosed that she was originally cast in the Bajirao Mastani movie by director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Bhumika made her Bollywood debut in 2003 with the movie Tere Naam, starring Salman Khan. She claimed that the same year, after completing a screen test, her sari unintentionally caught fire during a picture shoot.

The first candidate for Bajirao Mastani was Bhumika Chawla.

Bajirao Mastani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s eagerly anticipated movie, took years to complete. He had been mulling over the concept for the movie ever since his smash hit Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, but he finally settled on Deepika Padukone as Mastani and Ranveer Singh as Bajirao. The movie, Kashibai, starring Priyanka Chopra, was released in 2015.

Yeah, I had to do Bajirao Mastani too, Bhumika stated in an interview with RJ Siddharth Kanan. She gave the excuse that it didn’t work for her since “that was really many years ago, things have changed over the years” (that happened years ago and decisions change with the years).

“Shortly after Tere Naam, I had a screen test. I had a photo shoot with Sir done in his manner. My saree burned after ghee and oil poured on it. I was wearing a silk saree and holding the lamp in her manner when it toppled. About a mishap on set, she remarked, “I remember that happening.

Not just Bajirao Mastani was the first movie to address the role. He discussed his part in popular movies like Jab We Met and Munnabhai MMS in the same interview. Kareena Kapoor and Vidya Balan eventually received the roles, respectively.

Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is Bhumika’s most recent acting role. With Salman, Pooja Hegde plays the lead. Together with Bhumika, other actors who appeared in the movie included Raghav Juyal, Siddharth Nigam, Jassi Gill, Shahnaz Gill, Palak Tiwari, and Vinali Bhatnagar. It served as Shahnaz and Palak’s Bollywood debut.

Her upcoming Hindi film has not yet been confirmed by Bhumika. He last appeared in the thriller Kannai Nambathe, which is in Tamil.
